Guest Post: Pish Posh and Polish

Hi guys! I have been absent, sorry about that....lots of things going on in my life right now, I will spare you the details.....Here is a guest post today from a fellow polish aholic!

Hello there lovely readers I am delighted to be here today helping out Carrie who’s blog I have admired for some time! When Carrie asked for guest posts I just jumped at the chance.

So for this guest post I wanted to show you a great British Jem which I picked up in Superdrug for under £5. If you live in the UK grab this now and if you live anywhere else you need to arrange a swap for this! It’s Fashionista Mystical Dragon! It is a beautiful glitter glass fleck teal polish. In some light it verges towards blue and in other lights more towards the green end of the spectrum. The shimmer in this polish is unbelievable. It is stunning. There is no other word for it. I am going to let the photo’s talk from there selves!

Imagine a teal China Glaze Riveting. It is just yummy.

I decided to pair this beautiful colour with some cute nail art stickers. The orange flowers really compliment the teal and create a bright contrast. With a thick layer of top coat this laid completely flat on the nail. One of my pet peeves is snagging nail art.

Doesn’t it just look cute? It is the perfect summer manicure in non-traditional colours!

Anyway that’s all from me folks. I would like to just say thank you so much to Carrie for being kind enough for letting me post, I feel very honoured. Don’t forget you can all check out my own blog at: http://pishposhandpolish.blogspot.co.uk/ for more great nail art ideas perfect for summer!

Lots of Love Kerrie x

Guest Post by Geeky Owl

Hello Sassy readers! My name is Kirsten and I have a blog over at Geeky Owl. Carrie asked if I would like to do a guest post I thought that it would be a fun idea! So I thought about and actually did a mani that looked pretty similar to the guest post by Mommy Does Her Nails. But I wasn't too happy with mine so I gladly did another one and this one I love! I took pictures each time I added something to this mani. So, I hope you enjoy it because I sure do! :)

First is the mani color that chose for you today. This is Zoya Mitzi. This is a bright yellowy pea green that's a matte from Zoya's Mod Matte collection from last summer. This is two coats and it is still a bit splotchy. Not to happy with it's application. But it still works because with the other stuff that I add to it, it masks the imperfections! :)

Here I have stamped using the most awesome Konad White and Bundle Monster's BM 311 plate. So simple and pretty. I love the three flowers together, very pleasing to the eye. Oh and I love stamping with mattes....less wait time for it to dry! ;)

Bring on the bling! This is NOPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie. I love adding glitter as a french tip. It's just enough without being too much. And it's easier to remove! :) Now this could be a finished mani, but you can always add more right!?

How about a little rhinestone on one of the flowers. I adhered it by putting a little topcoat on and the carefully set the rhinestone on it!

I hope you like my finished mani! It sure does match this blog doesn't it! ;)

And thank you for reading my guest post!

Guest Post: Let's see like a child: Nifty Neons!

Hey sassy readers it's Mommy Does Her Nails stealing the spotlight for a moment. When Sassy Lacquer mentioned needing a post I jumped right on it. Then realized I had nothing in mind! This is actually a rarity for me. I look in my polish stash and dozens of ideas usually instantly pop out at me. Nothing this time. During this time my friend's daughter came over to play and begged me to do her nails. Thinking she'd pick ONE color I pulled out a bin for her. She picked TONS of bright, saturated, sunny colors. I was in heaven! The good ole' days of painting every nail a different color. But I wanted to modernized the idea somehow. Well check this out:
Neon lasers!! How fun and cool looking is this design??
From thumb to pinky we have Orly Green Apple, Fashion Bug Cocktail Pink, Julep Anne, Julep Hayden, and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. All topped off with Rimmel London in Black Satin. Below are the bright little girl fingernails that inspired me <3
Look at all those colors!! Yes, yes I did, in fact, use three of the same ones she had picked ;) Why fix what isn't broken? Have a great summer day and break out that super saturated rich color that you've been too scared to try...while your at it pick out a bunch and do it up!

Independence Day 2012

Sounds like a good movie title to me!! We are having a lazy day over here today. Husband said he bought some fireworks for tonight, I think we are going to go swimming later on also...I had to drain and clean and reset the pool after the storm came through. (that was alot of work!) It is nice and clean now though.

I haven't painted my nails in so long I forget what my last mani was!! I have been blue and down in the dumps, but I am crawling out of it slowly.

Last night I painted my nails with Revlon TS Cherry, and this morning I used a Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear blue and white, and also Milani red sparkle one coat glitter-no gold....and added dots to my nails at the tips, plus then I used a Confetti multi glitter for dots as fireworks but it didn't turn out well at all....

And of course I have to show you Uncle Sam, from my line: Sassy Lacquer. I wore this for Memorial Day this year. Its still avail in my shop. http://sassylacquer.storenvy.com/

Hope you all have a great 4th of July and stay safe! Those of you not in America, Happy Hump day, half way there!

<3 Carrie
