Earth Day 2013

Hey ya'll. Hope your doing great.

Its really overcasty outside today. And damp. Yucky Earth Day.

I did this mani awhile back and thought it would be perfect for today.

Its a saran wrap mani with a blue and green and looks like the Earth! Then I added some glitter!

Thanks for stopping by.

The most divine lemon sugar scrub ever! (SALE on Sassy Lacquer!!)

Hey there ya'll. i know its been awhile since writing...sorry. I've been busy. I think.

This morning I whipped up a Lemon Sugar Scrub for myself after my friend Hailey posted a link to one.

I made my own version of several recipes I looked at.

I remember as a kid in elementary school doing an experiment of sorts with lemon and salt, and how it made my hands feel so smooth afterward.

So I pulled out all my ingredients that I wanted to use:

Then poured them in a bowl or two:

In the picture above I have the oils in the small bowl and warmed it up a bit to liquefy the coconut oil.

This is all my ingredients ready to be stirred up:

Added the juice of a whole lemon and the Zest!

I didn't beautify the jar like some others do, but if I were to give it as a gift i would put a cutsie label on it and perhaps a bow:

During Scrub:

After Scrub: nice and soft!

This is where it'll sit (for a few days anyways, then I'll put it in the fridge...so it lasts a while. I'm pretty sure it would be ok setting out, but since I am in Florida and its hot here I don't want it going bad on me, that would be such a waste!):

My Recipe:

Sassy Lemon Sugar Scrub:

3 cups sugar (give or take see instructions)
juice of one lemon
zest of one lemon
1/2 cup of coconut oil, warmed to liquid
1/2 cup sea salt, coarse
1 tsp sweet almond oil

Mix together 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/2 cup sea salt.
Add in warmed coconut oil and sweet almond oil.
Add zest of lemon and juice.
Mix. I added another cup of sugar to get the consistency I wanted.

Place into a jar and use to scrub hands, feet, and legs. Scrub, rinse, and dry.
So smooth and soft afterward. Smells good too.

I'll be coming up with others as well when I am done with this scrub. Another friend, Frankie, made a coffee and brown sugar scrub. That sounds divine!

Catch ya laterz,
Carrie

Blame it on Fat Tuesday!

Today I have just a plain swatch for you.

Misa - Blame it on Fat Tuesday

He is a lovely bright fresh green, almost neon. It dries to a satin finish with out topcoat. I used Seche Vite, so its super shiny.

I had it on my toes and it was still looking good, but I was getting tired of it already and decided to throw one of my new polishes on top. I picked up Dawns Dew. And this is what it did: (click on it to enlarge it to see better)

The 'Epic' mani

So far of 2013....so says Skye from my FB polish group! LOL.

So I was bored last night and had my friend help me search for inspiration on pinterest.

She came up with this.

I picked out some colors. A Purple-Orly Velvet Rope, a blue-Zoya Robyn, an orange-Sally Hansen XW Sun Kissed, and a glitter-China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.

I expected it to come out awful...the colors all clashed.

Well it turned out pretty neat. I used Orly for the base, then did a diagonal tip with Zoya, and then dotted with the Sally Hansen, and then striped with the China Glaze. Topped it all off with Seche Vite.

Sorry about the quality of the photo...but if I didn't take the picture then I know I wouldn't have gotten around to it (busy day=Monday) so....yeah. But you get the picture...

So tell me what you think? Epic? Neat? Cool? Ugly?

Thanks for stopping by!

It's been...

....... two weeks since I typed to you,
Opened the laptop and said "Hello"
Many days since you laughed at me thinking,
"Get that together come back and see me"
lots of days since I started post's
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday I hope you'd forgiven me
but it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry...

Not Really but you get the point. So Sorry.....Been battling some depression moods again.
And the leftover mood swings of that time of month. (Sorry Men...if there are any that read this blog)
This is my favorite line of the song:
Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'

Okay so anyways. You know that Family that I wrote about a couple weeks back? Well I noticed a lot of police cars there the other day. Four to be exact. Unmarked cars, and they were plain clothed. I am so curious as to why. I only noticed the Father outside holding the baby talking to one. I wonder if they got robbed....or maybe they were witnesses to something....IDK, but it has/had me really curious. Whats your thought?

My husband and I had a really great date weekend this past weekend. My mom took all four kids. Things were going great until he got sick at the restaurant (Saturday Eve) and my plans didn't happen (Cheesecake Factory). I was OK at first but as the week has progressed, I'm am furious, disappointed, upset, sad, angry....those are all stupid things. Its not his fault, yet I am being selfish about it. Monday I blew up, my emotions got the best of me and the full force of my PMS was present. I was this horrible dragon that brought everyone down. It lifted yesterday, but now has come back as anger, instead of depression, self loathing, and PMS. I was angry all morning. Not wanting to do anything. My poor family has to live with me during all this. I wish there was a switch to turn it all off.

While we're on switches, don't you wish there was a switch for a clean house? Dinner? Laundry? Oh that would so dang amazing.
