Mommy Blogger?

Hey. Long time no see!

I went to see Mom's Night Out, Saturday night with a bunch of Sisters from Church. It was a pretty funny movie! Laughing almost all the way through, Tears were shed, from humor and from (not finding the word I'm looking for). Its about a mom who is overwhelmed with being a mom, and takes a night out and things just get worse and funnier from there. The dads try to take care of the kids, a baby is lost, shoulders dislocated, Bikers, Cops, Bowling... This is one for a date night. Its honest, morally clean, down to earth, and every mom and dad can learn from it and relate to it!

I've been struggling as a mom and wife. October last year was a turning point, light bulb clicked moment. Marriage was pretty rocky, not because He was bad or he didst love me, it was bad because I didn't know how it should be. There's alot of differences over the word in the Bible 'Submit', and to Submit to your husbands. The main point is that they are to be respected as the head of the household. I was used to running the show. I was mothering him. When I came upon a few books, (Power of a positive Wife, Marriage Matters and the Wife accompanying booklet, The Proper care and feeding of Husbands) it really changed how I felt about my position in the marriage and how I was wrong. (Hey I wasn't the only one at fault, He had his things too, still does, I still do too, but His aren't my concern, I can't change his, Only mine.)

I think alot of my views were because of how I grew up (I don't know if I use this as an excuse or what, but...) IT was just my mom, brother and I. My grandparents were pretty active in our lives and their marriage was pretty strong, but in our little world, mom was the boss, and me the boss of my brother. There was no man in charge. So in my own marriage I carried that over, I'm the boss. I made most of the decisions, and I tried to mother my husband. Which worsened the relationship I would compare us to others (still do-its really hard not to). I would watch movies and TV shows and get depressed that our life and love wasn't as special or perfect as what I just viewed.

The grass might be greener on the other side, but so is the water bill.

This trickled down to the kids. My kids, I love them, really do, but man is it hard to mother them. I'm supposed to be able to say something and them to do it. NOT NOT NOT NOT I have an eleven year old boy that is mouthy, nothing makes him happy, he likes nothing and hates everything. A 9 year old always right going on 30 little girl. A 6.5 year old boy that is considerably smarter than the rest of us and I am so proud, but he is getting disobedient and slightly off my good list. And lastly a 3.5 year old independent boy who wants candy every five minutes and makes me want to pull my hair out! I am a screaming mother. (UGH!) I hate being a screaming mother. When I ask someone to do something they grumble, complain, and stomp their feet. Makes me so upset. I don't know how to stop them, they don't respond to screaming but yet I still scream. They don't help around the house, They walk by trash and dirty clothes, they don't respect their toys, nor the cleaning I do. Whits END.

I have given up on their rooms, If they want to live like that, fine.

I am going to God for the rest. I am getting on my knees to ask for strength in dealing with the attitudes, the disrespect I and my husband receive from them. I can't do anything else.

I feel like a failure as a mom. I know I am not, but that doesn't make me feel any better. I know God entrusted these children to me. So now I feel like I am failing him.

I'm having a hard time staying Faithful. Our current situation, is financially unfit for a family of six. I could use some prayer warriors out there if I have any followers that pray, please do. I need to put my priorities in order. I am not acting like a Child of God, I am being disobedient to him. I need to follow is rules, how can i expect my kids to listen to me if I don't listen to God. Am I a disappointment to God?

LOVE

Yesterday a friend.... Its odd using that word/term for someone you do not know personally like a friend, but its even odder to me to use the word/term acquaintance for a person. So I just always use the word 'friend'.

Anyways, I was reading a friends blog, and a sermon that I just heard came to mind, I typed all of my notes from that sermon in her comments...I hope she didn't take it wrong, or is mad at me for it. But I felt that it was relevant in her situation.

I also think its a pretty important topic for all Christians to hear. Because the way my Pastor preached it, and boy did he preach it, I had never thought of it like that.

So I'm just gonna copy and paste what I put in her blog:

Pastor Greg this past Sunday, were in a one+one series…its really good, I urge you to listen online (Week three specifically, but the other two weeks are just as good!), they are short sweet, and easy to listen because he is an amazing ‘preacher’.

Anyways this week was how to LOVE others you dislike, or even HATE. It was titled, How to LOVE others you HATE. Most important thing: We are not commanded to like others, we are commanded to LOVE them. No matter. Even when they lie, hurt, deceive, dishonor, disobey….etc…you. Something that he said: “We’re his kids and we don’t act like him” (silent room, filled with gasps….wow!) Imagine if we could vaporize anything or anyone we wanted to that bothered us or hurt us. Clear roads…Awesome! Bad boss…poof gone! Now imagine if God had one…yep. Listen to this: “Instead of vaporizing sinners or lashing out at us, God put his son on the cross for us!” (more silence and gasping)

Luke 10:25-37, Good Samaritan story. A Jewish man was in the ditch and hurt, beaten, robbed. A priest (teacher of the word of God) came through, crossed to other side of the road, ignored the injured. A Levite (preparer of things in Church) came by, same thing crossed to the other side of road, and didn’t help. A Samaritan (Jews did not like the Samaritan community, Jews can’t even bring themselves to say the word, they think they are dirty and lowlife people) came by and helped the Jew up and took him to town for help.

Question: Who is my neighbor? (commandment: love thy neighbor)
Answer: The one who had mercy on him! The one being the Samaritan, the man asking was a Jew, he couldn’t even say Samaritan, he said ‘the one’.

To love a neighbor:
1 Move towards the, on the behalf of God, get to know people you wouldn’t normally associate with.
2 Give to people, do something for the above person

‘Give to Him to give to them.’

There are three kinds of people,
-Regular average people such as family and friends. Love them.
-Regular potentially harmful people. People with addiction, alcoholics, etc. Have a cautious loving action, very clear boundaries.
-Just plain evil people. How to deal with them you ask? Attorney’s and guns. Seriously He preached that! People like Adolf Hitler. Its your civil responsibility.

Ok last thing.

We are the person in the ditch
The Priest is Religion
The Levite is the Law
The Samaritan is Jesus Christ

Powerful message isn’t it?

That's the end of my copy and paste. Paster Greg urged us to go to people this week that we woudn't normally associate with, and give to them. How about forgiving people that you have in the past hated...Or are holding grudges against?

LOVE people! LOVE!

F.A.Q. Part two

Hey there, Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am giving you Part two of Our Church's FAQ series.
See Part One here.

Video of Week Two.

Week Two Questions: - Should Christians have Tattoos? - Is it okay for people to live together without being married? - Is Gambling a sin? - Are Ghost real? - Why do I feel overwhelmed when God says He won't give me more than I can handle? - If God forgives your sins, why is He going to judge us for our sins after we die? - Who do I vote for with Obama being Muslim and Romney being a cultist? - Does the Bible forbid interracial marriages? - Do pets go to heaven? - Why would God allow bad things happen to good people?

Scripture References: Should Christians have Tattoos? - Leviticus 19:28 - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Romans 8:11 - John 3-5 - 1 John 2:27 - Acts 2:17-41 - Micah 3:8 - Romans 15:16 - John 14:16-26 - Romans 14:17 - 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 - Galatians 5:22-23 - 1 Corinthians 12: 3-11 Is it okay to live together without being married? - Hebrews 13:4 Is Gambling a sin? - Matthew 25 Why do I feel overwhelmed when God says He won't give me more than I can handle? - 1 Corinthians 10:13 If God forgives your sins, why is He going to judge us for our sins after we die? - Revelation 20 - 2 Corinthians 5:10 Why would God allow bad things happen to good people? - John 16:33

Key principal: when you read something out of the old testament interpret it through the new testament.

Should a Christian have tattoo's? Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:28 From that scripture its pretty clear that you should not. BUT Leviticus also says not to cut your hair on the sides or the end of your beard...Bottom line if you have a tattoo or piercing, God and his people love you. A tattoo is FOREVER, just remember that. Whatever you do to your body, eating, exercising, piercing, cosmetic surgeries....etc....or whatever you don't do for your body, remember its not only your body, your body was bought by the blood of Christ. "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20  He lives inside of you!

Living together before married, is it OK? 'Marriage is just a piece of Paper' 'Its just a contract'.....Marriage is a covenant! This is a FOREVER commitment. "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral." Hebrews 13:4  .... If you are a Christian you should honor this.  ( I was present for this sermon, but it is hysterical the way he preaches! His facial expressions and jokes!)  If your acting like your married and your not its the sexual act that is immoral.......

Bonus round:
Is Gambling a sin? Matthew 25  Be careful with frequency and intensity.

Are ghosts real? If by ghosts you mean demons, then yes. The Bible says 1/3 of the demons fell with Lucifer, that they are loose on the earth, that they will only be taken care of completely at the final judgement.

Why do I feel overwhelmed when God said that he won't give me more than I can Handle? 1 Corinthians 10:13 , We're all tempted but He will always give us a window to escape from it - This was based on sexual temptations, He will give you circumstances in your life that are way bigger than you can understand or handle - sometimes they are designed for us to fall to our knees and go to Him and need him as our Saviour.

If God forgives us for our sins, then why is he going to Judge us for them when we die? Revelations 20 , The great white throne judgement, If you are a non believer (you reject God, you do not accept him as your saviour) your name will not be in his book and it will separate you from Him for all of eternity. That judgement is for the non believers, there is another one, its called the Bema (sp?) judgement, its for believers, they are not judged on their sins, because in Christ you are freed of them, but its more like a commendation service...Jesus is handing out gifts to people who have served him...."You did an awesome job, here is your key to the mansion, thank you for serving me". 1 Corinthians 5:12 'For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.'

True Question asked exactly how it was said: Who do I vote for with Obama being a Muslim and Romney being a cultess? (Pastor's Reaction: "Sweeeet" (LOL)) He can tell anyone ever who to vote for I am here to tell you HOW to vote. Persons and people and Parties and platforms don't last, follow the Lord, vote for whats in the Bible...or civilization will end. Harsh but true. Make it known! The Bible will not go anywhere, it is fixed in eternity. Vote based on the Bible not on Man, Follow Jesus.

Does the Bible forbid interracial marriages? No it does not, the issue for God is not color, its whether or not you believe in Him.  (Prayer pastor said, its kinda like having two shades of chocolate in the same box (LOL).

Do pets go to Heaven? AGAIN he teases us, OK next week.

Why do bad things happen to good people? WHY??? God says he will be with you and present in your time of needs. Life is better with Jesus Christ. Define Better the right way, Better is not being the one to always be promoted or never getting sick, never having money troubles, if you define it that way you will be let down...God says be patient and I will walk with you and explain it to you in Heaven.  1 John 3:15   Four things: Free Will, without free will you wouldn't have the ability to love. If you were God, would you create a Truman like world? Where everyone loves you and its 'boring' (my word) or would you let them choose? One: Choosing to love God. Two: Testing us, its because your loved and your to play a great role. Three: If your a Christian you do have an enemy, Satan. Four: Because our world is stained with sin and death. We all inherit a sin, nature, if we got what we deserve we wouldn't spend eternity with Christ. Jesus dies for our sins, a man who NEVER sinned, paid with his life to Free us of our sins, that's NOT fair. God Loves YOU.

Again, I totally recommend viewing this...He goes fast but he's good!

Next Week: Masturbation, Social Drinking, Abortion, Dinosaurs....Pretty light topics right?

F.A.Q.

Hey guys! New series at my Church, F.A.Q.
I still need to update you all with the last two Unstoppable series. (coming soon)

At Church they are taking the most FAQ and answering them, short and simple.

Video of week one

Week one: Is homosexuality a sin? - Aren't people born gay? - What about same sex marriage? - Can those who struggle with homosexuality be a Christian? - Can a person who has chosen homosexuality change? Is it OK to be cremated? Heaven - Will we be married in heaven? - Will we recognize each other in heaven? - Can people see us from heaven? - Do pets go to heaven? If a person commits suicide do they automatically go to hell? What happens to someone who commits suicide eternally?

Scripture reference: Homosexuality - Leviticus 18:22 - Romans 1:24, 26-27 - Genesis 1:27 - 1 Corinthians 6: 9-12 Cremation - Genesis 3:19 Heaven - Matthew 22:30 - Luke 16 - 1 Corinthians 13:12 Suicide - 1 John 3:15 - Romans 5: 1-2

Pastor Dumas says that whatever is taken from the old testament is interpreted through the new testament. Bible says, The truth sets us FREE.

Homosexuality: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." Leviticus 18:22
"Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations with unnatural ones. In the same way men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." Romans 1: 24-27  The Bible is VERY clear that it is a sin. Are people born this way? As a Pastor not a scientist, he says people are born with sin IE: unfaithfulness, deceit, depression and diseases that are carried through the family...He says whatever your proclivity you were born with you DON'T have to live it. The proclivity in his family is for the men in his family to become violent and go into prison. He is glad he is preaching and not in prison. (HeHe) EVERY person on the planet has the power to live in the fullness of Christs redemption! AMEN

Same Sex Marriage: No. It undefines what God has defined. "So God created Man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27 God Created Adam and Eve, not Adam and 'Steve'. If we were to say yes to gay marriage, where would we say no? Its bad for civilization. Its the wrong decision. But the church doesn't want to hate it, they want to have a relationship with them, communication....so they can lead them to the throne of Christ. Inalienable rights and Civil rights. Just because you can, doesn't mean its right for civilization. You can drink but it doesn't mean you can drink and drive. Polygamy. A person marrying an animal. In other words: If God gives a definition, lets NOT redefine it.

Can a person who struggles with homosexuality be a Christian? Undoubtedly YES. Key word: Struggles. Can a person who struggles with homosexuality change? YES. ANYONE can change with the grace of GOD. 1 Corinthians 6: 9-12  Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men  nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.  “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

What Pastor Dumas calls the bonus round:
Is it OK to be cremated? Yes, Genesis 3:19
Will we be married in Heaven? No, Matthew 22
Will we recognize each other in Heaven? Yes, 1 Corinthians 13:12
Can People in Heaven see us on Earth? No,  Luke 16

Question for the Pastor specifically: Do you and your family trick or treat on Halloween? Yes, but first they go to a Friends house, eat Chili and Pray, then they go and hand out tracks and get lots of candy!

Does 'Fluffy' go to Heaven? Well he teased with that question, answer next week he said.....

If someone commits suicide do they go to hell? Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. 1 John 3:15.... There is only one unforgivable sin, In which you eternally shut off the invitation of Jesus Christ. Suicide is not that sin, however it IS very sinful and very selfish. "Therefore,, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace through God with our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2 ...Pastor Dumas's advice, Don't make a permanent decision on temporary circumstances. There IS hope in Jesus Christ. Do you agree? I do. AMEN!

Really recommend viewing this sermon. I might have missed something you need to hear. And some of the humor of our Pastor.

Week two: shacking up, tattoo's....

Unstoppable, part 2

So I told you last Sunday that I was going to come here and tell you about my Church service...this past week we ended up not making it into Church, we had a birthday party and welcome home party for my Grandma. A couple months back she fell and broke her hip and has been in rehab and a nursing home since. She has Alzheimer's as well, and most patients that break a hip and have Alzheimer's do not learn to walk again, Praise God Grandma did! She is doing so well, I am so grateful! We had a great little family gathering this past Sunday, got a chance to meet my cousins 2 week old and hold him, his name is Herk, isn't that adorable? His great grandpa's name is Hercules, seriously, then his grandpa's name is Herk, such a neat name!

Right now I am listening in on our Churches Wed Worship service. Its amazing to be able to attend live via Internet, esp having children....and when we are sick we can still view online. So great. Tonight Gateway Church is leading Worship.

So last last Sunday was part two of the Unstoppable series that Pastor Greg is teaching...
He was saying that we need to be unstoppable....be inviting. Invite everyone you see to Church. It starts with Me/You. We need to lead people back to Christ...
(I went so long without writing this that I have forgotten...so sorry)

So here are some things from the service:

Video of service

Declaration: God chose to save me before I ever responded to His call. I am exceptionally gifted and designed to make a difference in this world. I am called, blessed, and anointed with Christ’s power, more than that, I am submitted to His will. I am here to make a difference! I am ready to see my country come back to faith in Christ. I love my home state and I will be a part of seeing the city of Tampa Bay transformed for the cause of Christ. I know it starts with me! I am ready to serve my church, the bride of Christ, she is the hope of the world.

The Big Idea: The vision of The Crossing Church has everything to do with leading people into God’s design, which is the doorway to a life of destiny!

Scripture: Acts 2:37-41 NIV
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Prayer: Thank you for calling me and equipping me to do you work in the world. I see your vision for my life and I am leaning into that calling. I am learning to follow you and trust you, as I do, things around me are becoming clearer. You know the way and you are the life giver. I trust your vision for my life and I am investing everything I have in that plan. I am committed to my church, your bride, and realize that my destiny is best served in serving.

I have to go watch Week Three and report back to you, but until then, love to you all and I invite all of you to go to your Friends and invite them to Church this Sunday!

Love, Carrie

How is your Sunday goin'?

Hey there beautiful people! How is your Sunday going?

I went to an amazing Church service today! Very Refreshing. Pastor is doing a series on being unstoppable, and getting God back in the center of your life, and the countries life. A couple weeks ago we watched a video about a Rabbi and his book, its called "The Harbinger: The ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future". It compared prophesies and signs from 9/11 with Isiah 9. Omens in Isiah showed God's anger with the Israelites, and now as a nation we have defied him once again. I keep meaning to order this book, I found it really interesting. Here is a link to the sermon with the video, in case your interested: LINK TO VIDEO SERMON (hopefully it works) and here is the link to the book: LINK TO BOOK. Anyways, this led the Pastor to the unstoppable series. Us meaning you and me need to be unstoppable when it comes to Christ, and spreading the word, and serving Him. Its really dug into my heart....

Declaration from last week (This is what the Pastor has us 'declare as a congregation): I am filled with seeds of greatness because I possess the seeds of Christ. God is connecting me with people of faith who will inspire me, challenge me and help me to grow. If there are nay unhealthy relationships in my life, I refuse to let them pull me down any longer. I am moving forward with those who believe the promises of God and are determined to realize them.

The Big Idea (The main point): The people in your inner circle can make you or break you!

Scripture:  Mark 5:35-43 NLT
While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James). When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw much commotion and weeping and wailing. He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. Holding her hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!” And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed. Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone what had happened, and then he told them to give her something to eat.

Application (How to use it in real life):  When you are in the heat of the battle you need people in your inner circle that will believe with you for the promises of God (Mark 5:37) • Disbelief destroys and a bad report delays the arrival of your destiny (Numbers 13,14)• Don’t surround yourself with people who are constantly telling you what you can’t do, it’s biblical to ask unbelieving people to leave.

I took most of the above from the Churches site, this was only our second service at this Church, and I think its pretty cool so far. Seems to be a good atmosphere, and actual filled with the Spirit. They don't have this Sunday's sermon notes up yet, so when they get that up I'll post it here, next Sunday. I think I will do a Sunday series like this, sharing the Gospel with you guys. Some will like it some not so much, but I think that I am being led to do this...Plus it gives me a way to think about the sermons more in depth than just listening in Church.

I am relaxing now on my couch waiting to see what TS (hurricane) Issac brings tomorrow. So far its just pretty gloomy out. I have a yummy smelling roast in the crock pot, found the recipe on pinterest: POT ROAST. I threw it in before leaving this morning to Church and when I got home added carrots, potatoes and onions to it, smells so good in here right now. We also rented The Lorax on demand, it just finished, it had a quote at the end: Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothings going to get better. It's not. (That Pretty much goes along with the Unstoppable sermons!! Pretty neat.

Love to ya'll, Carrie
